Drunk driving charge results from hit-and-run accident

When dealing with criminal charges, each person may have different options. The details of the case can play an immense role in how the situation will proceed, and it is important for accused parties to review the various aspects of their predicaments. In cases of drunk driving, individuals may find it useful to remember that each case is different.

One man in Tennessee will undoubtedly want to closely look at his case and legal options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that he was driving a vehicle when he struck a pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian did not survive the incident. The accident took place at approximately 8:40 p.m., and the man reportedly returned to the scene around 10:30 p.m.

After the man returned, police allegedly detected an odor of alcohol. He also purportedly had bloodshot eyes and reportedly stated that he drank three beers. A breath test allegedly indicated that the man’s blood alcohol level was .09. As a result, he is currently facing charges for DUI, driving on a revoked license and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Vehicular homicide charges did not result from the incident.

Though the fatality did not result in homicide charges, this Tennessee man still has a great deal to handle in relation to the drunk driving allegation and other charges. The manner in which he chooses to proceed with his case may depend on a number of factors, including his personal preferences. Nonetheless, he may find it useful to obtain reliable legal information regarding his available criminal defense options.
