Traffic stop results in drug charges for 2 in Tennessee

It is important to address any type of situation that results in criminal charges in an appropriate manner. This action may be difficult because most people do not fully understand the best way to handle a situation that results in drug charges. Luckily, individuals charged with such crimes do not have to blindly move through their legal proceedings without the right information.

Two individuals may be looking into ways to learn more about their cases after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that a police officer for Middle Tennessee State University stopped a vehicle due to the driver allegedly driving at night without headlights on. After stopping the car, the officer reportedly smelled marijuana, and as a result, the officer conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the search, 14 pounds of marijuana were allegedly seized. As a result, the driver of the vehicle and a passenger were taken into custody on unspecified drug charges. No identifying information on the individuals was given in the report. Updates may be given at a later time as the situation is likely still under investigation.

The two individuals facing these drug charges may feel out of their element. Understandably, it can be overwhelming and difficult to make important legal decisions for criminal cases. However, if they wish to find the best possible options for their cases, they may be able to utilize local Tennessee legal resources that could provide them with useful and applicable information about their predicaments. Though they may feel as if punishment for their actions is right around the corner, they may want to remember that meaningful criminal defenses could help them work toward the outcomes they find most agreeable.
