Woman facing DUI, assault charges in relation to Tennessee crash

Recently, a DUI case has arisen in Tennessee in connection to a car accident.

The accident happened on May 16 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. That day, a 26-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck along Highway 13. According to authorities, the woman’s pickup truck then crossed onto the road’s opposing side and crashed head-on into a car.

The car contained two individuals: a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl. These two teenagers were injured in this accident. They were transported to a hospital after the crash. As of last Friday, the 15-year-old girl was in critical condition and the 17-year-old girl was no longer hospitalized.

The 26-year-old woman has been accused of drunk driving in relation to this auto crash. Criminal charges have been brought against her. Specifically, she is facing charges of improper lane use, DUI and vehicular assault. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this DUI case.

Being accused of having caused an injury-causing auto accident while drunk can be a very serious allegation. As the above-mentioned case shows, such allegations can sometimes lead to vehicular assault charges being brought against an individual.

Vehicular assault charges are a very serious type of charge for a person to face. Cases involving vehicular assault charges can involve many complicated issues and what happens in such cases can be very impactful. Serious punishments can be given to a person if he or she is convicted of vehicular assault charges.

Thus, if a person is facing vehicular assault charges, he or she may wish to consider seeking advice from an experienced criminal defense attorney.
